At the start of 2020 I began relying on my Macbook less and less. I have been using Ubuntu 20.04 for a short while and enjoy using it. The desktop improvements in 20.04 compared to previous versions are really impressive.
My first reboot after installing Chrome Remote Desktop I was unable to login to Ubuntu. The login screen would loop after entering my password.
There are two things you can do to work around the problem
Prevent Chrome Remote Desktop from starting at boot, start it after log-in instead
sudo systemctl disable chrome-remote-desktop
After executing ‘gnome-session-properties’ ‘Startup Applications Preferences’ will open and here we can add an entry for Chrome Remote Desktop
Remove Chrome Remote Desktop
sudo apt-get purge chrome-remote-desktop
I’m yet to find a proper fix.
